The no. 1 thing I did (and still do) to self heal my trauma:
Break my trigger loops.
Do you want me to teach you how to do this too?
Introducing The Self Healing the Root Workshop
Identifying and tolerating big emotions and triggers is something I work on with my clients. It’s important work.
If you know what your triggers are, you can begin healing them.
I noticed with my clients and in my own healing journey that healing triggers is at the root of all the other moving parts and pieces when it comes to the impact trauma has on our present moment. Once you get the root sorted, it can feel easier to branch out and start healing the other complex parts and pieces.
Imagine what it would be like to go through life and feel like everything is normal and going to be okay. That’s what healing your triggers (and trigger loops) allows you to feel.
What You’ll Leave With
-
Radical Self Awareness
You’ll be honest about how trauma has impacted your present moment so you can then recognize and identify your nervous system responses, coping mechanisms (adaptations), and triggers.
-
Tools for Emotional Regulation
You’ll try out different techniques to regulate your emotions when you’re triggered so you can decide what works best for you based on your specific nervous system responses and adaptations.
-
A Plan for Real-Life Application
You’ll integrate the self awareness and emotional regulation tools into your life by methodically and practically envisioning what you really want and planning how you’ll respond next time you’re triggered.

Part 1
We’ll cover what you’ll need to do the work (don’t worry - it’s not a lot), and we’ll dive right into some coaching questions and special practices to set you up for success, including envisioning what you want for yourself going forward. This video will be fairly short, but try to allot 30 minutes to an hour to dig deep within yourself to honestly answer the coaching questions I’ll ask you in this video.
Part 2
In this video, you’ll get a crash course in several trauma concepts and what they mean for you. You’ll walk away from this video knowing what your common trauma responses are and understanding how they fit into trigger loops (also known as trauma loops or negative cycles).
Part 3
In this video, we’ll go over the steps required to build your self awareness and then you’ll practice doing just that. You’ll walk away from this video with a greater understanding of how your body, mind, and spirit signal to you that a trigger is coming on and you’ll be able to label some of your most common triggers.
Part 4
In this video, you’ll learn about tangible techniques you can do to regulate your emotions and self soothe depending on what nervous system response you’re having. I’ll give you demonstrations of each so you can practice along. You’ll walk away from this video with tools that you can start using immediately when you become dysregulated (also known as triggered or activated).
Part 5
This is where we’ll be covering what integration means, why it’s important for trauma healing, and how to integrate the awareness you cultivated over the last several videos. You’ll walk away from this video with an action plan in place that applies to your real life.
Part 6
In this video, we’ll discuss the changes you might experience as you’re healing so you’ll know what to expect as you start using the strategies and techniques you’ve learned throughout this workshop. You’ll leave this video hopefully feeling a little more prepared to take action and recognize your progress, and also knowing you have support available to you if you need it — I’m here when you’re ready.
Not quite sure?
You won’t sign up for this workshop if it’s not the right fit or the right time for you.
This Workshop is Not For You If:
You’re looking for a diagnosis, treatment, or recovery support.
You’re not yet able to safely work with your triggers and doing so may re-traumatize you or immerse you in a flashback (or seizure, for example) that you aren’t prepared for.
You’ll need regular accountability assistance (and don’t have that in your support system) while taking this workshop.
You’re experiencing suicidal thoughts. Instead, call 988.
The coping mechanisms you’ve developed throughout life are still helping you more than they’re harming you.
You feel like you need immediate results and/or are in a crisis or immediate danger.
You won’t prioritize taking the time to do the work within.
This Workshop is For You If:
You’re looking for education and guidance to supplement your self healing journey.
You’re able to safely work with your triggers and know how to not re-traumatize yourself.
You thrive when working at your own pace and can make progress without someone checking in regularly OR you already have an accountability partner who can assist.
You feel ready to dig deep and know you have the resilience to handle what may come up—all the messy and beautiful parts.
Old coping mechanisms just aren’t working anymore. They’re harming you more than they’re helping.
You’re serious about making changes in your life.
You’re beginning to suspect that you’ve experienced emotional trauma that’s impacting you negatively and you want to learn more.

What People Are Saying
As a Workshop Participant, You Get Options for Support
-
Discussion
Since this a self-paced workshop, I encourage you to start discussions in the comments of the videos.
I’ll chime in when I can, but most importantly, as the participant list grows, you may find support in other like-minded people going through similar experiences.
The community around this workshop is what you make of it, but it can definitely be there if you want it to be. And I hope you do.
Note: I strive to keep the comments in this workshop a safe place where we all hold space for one another. If anyone should become hateful or harmful to the group, they will be blocked. As I’m the only moderator right now, please reach out to me if I miss something.
-
Q&A
You’ll have several ways to submit questions to me as they arise.
You can ask questions in the comments of the workshop videos, if you don’t mind other workshop participants seeing who you are. I will do my best to answer questions in the comments regularly, depending on how many there are at any given time.
If you’d like to remain anonymous, you will get access to a private form where you can submit questions directly to me only.
I will answer your anonymous questions via my Self Healing Your Trauma monthly newsletter and on my blog so everyone can benefit.
-
Feedback
I really want this workshop to be a valuable resource for your self healing process. To that end, you’ll have access to a feedback form where you can tell me what’s working for you and where you might need additional support.
Over time, I’ll make updates to the workshop to reflect what the most people are requesting. As long as you’re still on my email list, you’ll have access to the updates.
And one more thing…
Because you’re on my email list as a workshop participant, you’ll get to bypass the consultation process (at first) and go straight into a discounted, one-hour, virtual one-on-one coaching session if you need more hands on support while you’re taking the workshop.
(Spots are limited and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.)
I bet you’ll get inside this workshop and find so much value that you’ll ask yourself:
Why is this workshop free?
Research indicates that at least 70% of people in the U.S. alone have experienced trauma.
That means you’ve likely experienced trauma and most of the people around you have too.
Simply put, people need it.
I believe we can alleviate the suffering that we all feel is so inevitable. But that starts with healing yourself with self compassion and then extending compassion to others who are unhealed so that they can eventually get there too. This workshop helps with that.
Want to pay me anyway? Here’s what you can do:
You can share this sign up page with your friends and family. You can tell them about it, send them the link to this page via email or text, share it on your socials, or all of the above. Helping me spread the word far and wide about this workshop enables more people to heal and that’s what I want from this. Of course, that’s completely optional. I’m glad you’re here either way. Truly.
Suffering does not have to be the norm, and…
“You can’t control others, but you can control how you respond.”
